Rich or Happy ("we", "our", "us") runs happyorrich.online, a tool that estimates lifetime earnings and wealth for university degrees. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. What we collect

We collect very little. Specifically:

• Account data: if you sign up, your username and email address, plus a hashed password. You do not need an account to use the simulator.
• Comments: any comment you post on a degree page, along with the country you select.
• Technical data: your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected in standard server logs.

3. How we use your data

We use it to: run the site, save your account and comments, keep the service secure, and understand roughly how many people use it. We do not send marketing emails.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with our hosting provider, and only where the law requires it.

5. Retention

Comments are kept until they are deleted. Account data is kept until you delete your account or ask us to remove it. Server logs are rotated automatically.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these, email [email protected].

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies for session handling. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. See our cookie policy.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and follows Django's security defaults, including password hashing and CSRF protection.
